As the sun climbs higher and the days stretch longer, the world around us is imbued with a luminous quality and a palette that ranges from the fiery oranges of sunsets to the cool blues of twilight.
The Art Center of Northern New Jersey is excited to announce its summer juried exhibition for 2024 themed Summer Spectrum: A Celebration of Light and Color. This show celebrates the creative spirit of fine and contemporary artists in a variety of mediums in the tri-state area. Dive into the vibrant heart and heat of summer with Summer Spectrum: A Celebration of Light and Color. We invite you to explore the myriad ways in which the summer season influences our perception of light and color.
Summer Spectrum explores the emotional and sensory experiences of summer, and celebrates the season’s visual splendor. Let your creativity flow via abstract expressions, figurative work, landscapes, or other mediums. We look forward to seeing how you interpret the "Summer Spectrum" in ways that are as diverse and beautiful as the season itself. What does summer mean to you?
We invite both emerging and established artists to submit their work for an opportunity to be part of this show, which seeks to explore the concept of the Summer Spectrum in its broadest interpretation.

Open to all artists aged 18+ living in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Categories include: acrylic, oil, watercolor, drawing, mixed media, photography, digital art, printmaking, and sculpture. Click here for all eligibility and requirements and category details. If we receive any work that is outside the bounds of the submission guidelines, your work will not be accepted.
You may submit up to 2 entries. The first entry is $20, and a second entry is an additional $10.
There will be one first place winner in each medium category. A cash prize & certificate will be awarded at the reception (or check/digital payment if the winner cannot attend).
